A "Stage 1" tune will just be software - no need for other bolt-ons but you certainly can add them if you would like for a bit of a bump. Once you do a DP you should get the Stage 2 software which accounts for it and deals with the CEL you will get from it. Happy searching.

Instead of holding the engine in that cell where it is experiencing knock while you slowly retard the timing, you’re best to immediately back off the throttle, make the change and then return to that cell to see if the change has worked.
